The Duchess and the Jimmy Choo Vamp

Duchess of Cambridge emerging from her car wearing this gorgeous teal gown designed by Jenny Packham and wearing the glittering Vamp platform sandal from Jimmy Choo. The Duchess and Prince William attended a Gala event at the Royal Albert Hall to mark the countdown to the Olympic Games 2012. This time, she styled her hair in a braided updo which suits her very well. I love her gown with the touch of lace. Wait till you see the back part of her gown! Check it out here...

The Duchess braided hairstyle showed off  her beautiful face and the teal lace design of her gown from the sleeves to the back. She looked so radiant and the gown just amazing with the teal lace!  Jenny Packham is a British Fashion Designer who studied Fashion from Central St. Martins School of Art in London and also at Southmapton Solent University in her home city of Southampton. She opened her Evening and Bridal Wear boutique in London since 1988. Besides the Duchess, her other famous clients are Keira Knightley, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Biel among others.

The pictures above showed the best in British fashion design, from the gown designed by British Fashion Designer, Jenny Packham to the gorgeous  Jimmy Choo Vamp worn by the Duchess. Of course, right now, both Prince William and Catherine are stars of  Royal Family. Both Prince William and Catherine represent a new wave of hope and optimism to the British people. Good thing, Catherine is learing to support British Fashion Design and present it to the world.

A Royal One Year: William and Catherine

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Today, 29th April is the First Wedding Anniversary of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Did you watch their Royal Wedding last year at Westminster Abbey, London?  Most people waited excitedly for their Royal Wedding especially to see the couple come out together from Westminster Abbey. There was also speculation and excitement about the Bride's Wedding Dress. Good thing, Catherine did not disappoint as her Wedding Dress was designed by British Designer Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. I was also impressed that Catherine even did her own make-up on her wedding day!  Honestly, I don't know any bride who will do that! But she did! She even used Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Another thing I liked about their wedding was that, I read that they used Jo Malone Perfumery Spray which made the whole Westminster Abbey smell  so fragrant.

When I was in London last week, I came across  the Stylist Magazine which had the cover of Catherine with the article: Are You A Believer? How Kate created a new wave of optimism.  The article explained how Great Britain was known as the land of  sceptics due to the current Recession plus the Royal Family  had a low popularity and felt to be outdated. But suddenly with the Royal Wedding last year of Prince William to Catherine, a new wave of optimism came out and the newly wed Royal Couple has brought back positive image to the Royal Family in  Britain and the World.

Here are the top 3 reasons on why We all want to believe in Kate:

1. It is very obvious that Prince William and Catherine both married for love. They are each other's best friends and truly enjoy each other's company. They both support and love one another.

2. According to the article, Catherine's  endearing nature to the people is that she is from "Middle Class" which some British TV  Commentators last week said on TV and that she makes people feel she is one of them. Even her choices of fashion presently are from High Street instead of Haute Couture.  The article explained very well: 'In Kate we recognise qualities such as loyalty and discretion, that we desire in our own friendships and relationships.'

3.  So far for her first year as a Royal, she has been performing very well.  I agree with the article that 'Kate has the same quiet reserve, tact and ability to hide her feelings as the Queen, which is useful in the public eye.'  The article also emphasized that 'there is also something comforting about a public figure- and a royal who shows no signs of skeletons in her closet.'  Unlike some celebrities now who are so overexposed with their own reality shows and scandals.

A Happy Wedding Anniversary to William and Catherine!

Princess Diana & Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

The Late Diana, Princess of Wales wearing a Black Gown designed by Elizabeth Emmanuel. Then presently, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, wearing a similar style of gown designed by Sara Burton for Alexander McQueen. Notice how closely similar the two Black gowns are?  Notably, Victor & Elizabeth Emmanuel designed Princess Diana's wedding gown and of course Sara Burton for Alexander McQueen designed Catherine's  Wedding Gown.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, looking so fabulous! Catherine will turn 30 yrs old on Monday, January 9th.  I just wish she pushed her long hair at the back so that we can see her necklace jewellery.

There are many photographs now of Catherine comparing her fashion clothes to her late Mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales.  Too bad they never met. It would have been good and also fun for both women to have met. Of course, it will make Prince William very happy too.

Kensington Palace, Diana's former residence and now the current residence in London of  Prince William and Catherine, is currently undergoing renovations. The unveiling of the newly renovated Palace will be in March 2012. Then on March 26, there will be a special Exhibit of Princess Diana's dresses at Kensington Palace. Another thing to look forward to in 2012!!
