This weekend here in Canada is our Thanksgiving Day Long Weekend. All this week at work, the only topic was food and what will be the menu for Thanksgiving Dinner? If there is such a place that is worth waking up early on a Saturday morning, it is to go to St. Jacobs Farmer's Market in the Kitchener-Waterloo area here in Ontario. St. Jacobs Market is about one and a half hour drive west of Toronto.
This market is very popular, as this is the market where the local Mennonites community in the Kitchener-Waterloo area sell their organic, farm grown produce. The Mennonites sell their fresh meats, different kinds of sausages, kebobs, ham steaks, all kinds of steaks, Canadian peameal bacons, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, natural honeys, Canadian maple syrups, homemade pasta and even their own farm grown Japanese Maple trees and all kinds of plants and flowers. There are picnic tables outside the market so that visitors can sit down and eat. As this is Thanksgiving weekend, here are some of the abundant harvests that we are thankful for, among other things in our lives.
This Apple Fritter place is so popular here that there is already a long line up so early in the morning. But it is worth it because it is just so delicious and fresh!
A colourful display of bell peppers, huge eggplants and hot peppers.
Here is a Mennonite lady with her fresh vegetables for sale. The Mennonite community are still very traditional and conservative. Driving along the roads around this market, we saw some Mennonite families still traveling in their horse drawn carriage. We are very lucky and thankful that they are sharing their harvest in this market.

I enjoy markets like these anywhere in the world.
Visitors can taste these grapes and cherries.
An abundance of grapes.
I just love these colours from the strawberries and blueberries.
These are the homemade pasta that I always make sure to buy from the market.

All kinds of pies. After all that vegetables, fruits, pies and pasta, next, is to look for our Butterball Turkey for our Thanksgiving Dinner.

Some Plants and Flowers for this Fall Season to brighten your day!
We bought one of these Japanese Maple Trees for our garden. In Toronto, this Japanese Maple Tree could cost hundreds of dollars. Over here, it only cost 1/4 of that price.
Aren't these Calla lilies so pretty? I like the white and purple colour combination.
I received this card from my Yoga class...some reflection....
Happy Thanksgiving Weekend from Canada!
