Vancouver: Cactus Club Cafe

One of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada is Cactus Club Cafe. This is a fine dining restaurant that offers a global cuisine mostly  Asian fusion combined with Canadian and European dishes. One of their locations that I enjoyed during our visit was at the Coal Harbour as it has panoramic views of the Shore Mountains, Stanley Park and the Olympic cauldron during the 2010 Olympics. The restaurant also offer a view of the Harbour Air landing platform. We saw seaplanes depart and arrive from the Bay as we dined. Their food were really delicious with ingredients coming from the Northern Pacific Bay and farms.  Their service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant have many different locations across British Columbia and all the way here to Toronto. It's a place worth to visit with great food and amazing views.

OnBoard The B.C Ferries To Victoria, B.C.

One cannot miss to visit Victoria, British Columbia when in Vancouver. Just to get to Victoria is already an adventure in itself. That's why it deserves a separate post to share with you how fun, scenic and adventurous it was just to get to Victoria, B.C.,  located in Vancouver Island, separate  from mainland British Columbia. There are only two ways to get to Victoria:  the fastest way is by flying with a sea plane or take the longer and most scenic route through the BC Ferries, the publicly owned British Columbia Ferries founded since 1960 to ferry visitors and locals from Vancouver to Victoria. If you prefer to join a local tour riding through a tourist bus or drive your own car, riding the BC Ferry is the way to go. The Ferry is so huge with multi-level floors for vehicle parking, bus and trucks parking and the top floors has restaurants, cafes and lounges for the guests to relax and enjoy the view.  Sit back for now and enjoy the view as we sailed along the Bay towards the Pacific Ocean to reach Victoria, B.C through BC Ferries.

Adventure In Capilano Suspension Bridge

This weekend is the first weekend of summer. Luckily, one of my adventures this season is my visit to the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver, British Columbia. This bridge stretches 450 feet across and 230 feet above the Capilano River. With these many people crossing back and forth, the bridge swayed left and right. When there is a mischievous bunch in front of you who choose to stop in the middle or to jump to rock the bridge, then you are in for a scare swaying the bridge more.  Whilst crossing, I focused on the destination ahead. I told myself not to stop, keep on walking and look straight. I admit that in the middle, I peeked to look down to see how high we were and to admire the view above and below. We crossed the bridge again to return to the other side in order to start the Cliff Walk which is another narrower bridge suspended on the side of the cliff. It was such an exhilarating experience to walk so close to nature. To experience the B.C rain forest to admire the old tall trees, the plants and breathe the clean air which was a blessing all the way from God and nature. That's why it is very important to admire nature's beauty, to be with nature and to take care of our environment. Canada is blessed to have such abundance of nature.

Take a moment to listen and feel the spirit of the rain forest.

Weekend In Vancouver

This time, we decided to fly west to visit Vancouver, British Columbia which is the third largest city in Canada. Beautiful and gray Vancouver is located in the North Pacific Ocean and has mountain views all around the city. Every part of the city is blessed with water and mountain views. Truly gorgeous, modern, very environmentally conscious green city, multi-cultural and so clean. Even the city air is so clean and pristine coming from the ocean and the mountains nearby. Vancouver boast of authentic Pacific Northwest Canadian cuisine, fresh seafood and truly authentic Asian food as offered on their numerous restaurants. We enjoyed our visit here despite the gray clouds and rain which is common in Vancouver. There are also happy and colourful art exhibits in their museums and those totem poles carved by the First Nations people from tree trunks on display at Stanley Park. Overall, it is worth to visit Vancouver, a Pacific Rim city that is still part of Canada.
