Italian Sweet Treats

In my goodies box were the Napoleon with custard, Napoli's sfogliatelli baked with ricotta cheese and their Sicilian canollis.
The Sfogliatelli was so decadent and the best that I have ever tasted as it was baked with the filo dough layered on top of each other to make this pastry then filled with ricotta cheese and candied fruit. Bite into it and we tasted the fresh crunchiness of the filo dough combined with the creamy ricotta cheese filling. We were in sweets heaven!

Let us go on short tour of Italian treats with these sweet goodies from Lamanna's Bakery located in Rouge Hill, Toronto East. Lamanna's is a family owned Italian Bakery here in Toronto voted in the Scarborough Mirror's in 2012 as the Best Bakery, Best Dessert, Best Deli, Best Coffee and Best Caterer. Every time I visit their Bakery, there is always a long line up, a high demand for their  freshly baked Sicilian canollis and their dolci shelves always empty especially when I stop by in the afternoon after work. Come let's go and discover some of their Italian Sweet Treats.
Sicilian canollis.
These are always freshly baked as they never stay long in their bakery. Always in high demand and being scooped up by their patrons so fast than we could eat them. Please note that I did not eat these by myself. I do share!
Sprinkled Jelly Fingers Cookies.

My favourite Italian Almond cookies.
What are your favourite Italian sweet treats?
Friends from all over are Welcome. Come on over when you can. There are also beautiful and delicious cakes including the Tiramisu and their Lamanna Green Apple roll cakes. I will come back for sure to try their traditional Florentine torta della nonna (Baked ricotta tarts) topped with pine nuts from their Sicilian Grandmother's recipe. Check out the Lamanna's Bakery Facebook page for more of their dolci creations.

Buon Appetito!
