During my visit to Paris this month, I was fortunate to visit the Dries Van Noten - Inspirations exposition at the Musee Des Arts Decoratifs at the Musee du Louvre which runs from March till November 2nd. I was also naughty enough to break the rules and took some photos inside when no one was watching. Thank God, my stealth camera and I were not caught. So forgive me the quality of some of the photos. It was also very dark inside, as in pitch black to really make the presentation more dramatic and make the clothes really stand out. Good thing Dries Van Noten, a Belgian designer from Antwerp, Belgium, designs clothes that are dramatic, very colourful and have lots of volume. In the Exhibit, I learnt more about the Designer and his work. Dries get his many Inspirations from nature, his garden at home, Butterflies, his trips to India, Spain, by British Military Uniforms, by music from David Bowie, from Editors like Diana Vreeland, among others. All of these inspirations were translated into his designs which were welcomed and celebrated here by his Clientele, by Editors, Buyers and most of all by people like me who just love fashion.
Influenced by David Bowie's Space Oddity Album.
Clothes inspired by his trips to Spain and India.
