Birthday Time: Sweet Jesus Soft Ice Cream

Well, today is my birthday. One way I celebrated was to try one of Toronto's coolest soft ice cream places, known as Sweet Jesus. This ice cream place serves soft ice cream topped in a variety of toppings like Hella Nutella, Strawberry Shortcake, Sweet Baby Jesus (with caramel soft serve, chocolate sauce, peanut butter sauce, caramel, chocolate and peanuts), Cookies Cookies Cookies & Cream and Birthday Cake, among other flavours.  I tried the Birthday Cake, topped with cake crumbles and lighted candle (to make a wish). Their ice cream is so delicious and the flavours are so decadent that I would definitely come back to try the others. As I get a year older, I got to love myself more, take care of myself more, be more loving and kinder,  and at the same time enjoy life as we only have one life to live.

Summer Ice Cream Truck

One of my favourites during summer is to have an ice cream. Luckily, here in Toronto, we have this ice cream truck driving around neighbourhoods, playing their tunes to let the residents know that they have arrived. When we hear their tunes, both children and adults run out our houses to make sure that we catch the truck so that we can buy our ice cream. Besides ice cream, the Donkey Kone offers shakes, slush, parfait, sundaes, Popsicles among other ice cold offerings. My favourite is the soft ice cream in both vanilla and chocolate, all twirled into one cone. What will be your favourite here?

Enjoying The Dippin' Dots

I
Ice cream is one of my favourite indulgence during Summer. My favourite flavour is Cookies N' Cream. At  Universal Studios Orlando, in Florida, I discovered this brand of Ice Cream called Dippin Dots. It is not hard to miss the caravan because there is always a line up to get some of this ice cream at Universal. To quench our feeling hot from the summer heat, we decided to give it a try. These are little beads of ice-cream developed by Dippin Dots founder, Curt Jones. The little beads actually melt in your mouth and it is very tasteful.

Jones, a microbiologist, pioneered the process of cryogenic encapsulation...a scientific way of saying he used super-cold freezing methods to make little beads of ice cream. Not only were the ice cream beads delicious and fun to eat, Jones knew that flash-freezing the ice cream ingredients would lock in flavor and freshness. With those qualities established, Dippin' Dots were ready to take on the world!

These ice cream come in many flavours like Cookies N Cream with Oreo and Banana Split which we tried on the above photo. Other flavours were Bubble Gum, Rocky Road, Chocolate, Birthday Cake, Cotton Candy among a variety of flavours. As summer is waning down, go and have your favourite ice-cream soon!
