The Alchemist: A Graphic Novel. I would like to share with you one of my favourite books, The Alchemist, written by one of my favourite author, Paulo Coelho. I love this story because it touches the human soul through travel, taking risks to fulfil our dreams, discovering our own capabilities in the face of adversity, facing the good and the bad and how do we react to them? It covers the spiritual side, the material side, the hardships of life, how we overcome and most of all, love. The book showed us about our human capacity to love ourselves and to love others. Alchemy is a science of turning base metals into more noble metals like silver or gold. This book written by Brazilian Paulo Coelho is about turning our dreams into reality. Then discovering if after we finally realize our dream if that is what we really want? What is more important in life? Discover the adventures of Santiago, a Spanish sheppard boy who had a dream, had the courage to realize his dream despite his lack of resources and pursued his dream with a passion which took him from Spain to Morocco, to across the Sahara dessert to all the way to see the Pyramids in Egypt. Each step of the way was not easy for Santiago. He faced many challenges and obstacles which made him to be a better person. Many obstacles, many lessons learnt and most of all, the triumph. I do not want to spoil the adventure for you. I will giveaway another copy of this Hardcover novel. My first ever giveaway from my blog. The book is a Graphic Novel. Paulo Coelho introduced the term Personal Legend in this book which he defined as 'It is what you always wanted to accomplish. Everyone, when they are young, knows what their Personal Legend is. At that point in their lives, everything is clear and everything is possible.' 'They are not afraid to dream, and to yearn for everything they would like to see happen to them in their lives. But, as time passes, a mysterious force begins to convince them that it will be impossible for them to realize their Personal Legend.' The Old King told Santiago: 'To realize one's destiny is a person's only real obligation.' The Journey starts here... |
