Weekend In Monaco

Visiting Monaco was on my bucket list. Luckily, we were able to visit Monte-Carlo, the capital of Monaco with a short train ride from Nice, France. When we arrived in the Monte-Carlo Train station, it was only a one bus ride to see the whole country which is built on a rock and is the size of Central Park, in New York City.  The whole country is overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. As Monaco is a Principality now ruled by Prince Albert, the son of the late Prince Rainier and the late Princess Grace.  There is a minimum $2 million requirement  to qualify to live there permanently which is a tax-free haven in Europe. Well besides royalty, there is their famous F1 race track which is basically the main road ways around the city and the famous Monte-Carlo Casino. If you are double lucky, stay at the Hotel De Paris in Monte Carlo and be seen hanging out at the Cafe de Paris. It doesn't hurt to dream but visiting Monaco was truly a delight and so easy to go around and discover this Mediterranean gem.

Take the time to visit the Musee Oceanographique which is one of the best aquariums in the Mediterranean region.
I'm in awe of the clear and clean waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
The Royal Palace in Monaco was built in the 16th to the 17th Century.

Francois Grimaldi was the founder of the Grimaldi Dynasty, the current ruling family of Monaco.

The late Prince Rainier and the late Princess Grace.
The royal homes of Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie.
The Cathedral in Monaco where the Royals had their weddings and the place where Prince Rainier and Princess Grace are buried.
 F1 Racetrack.

Stay at the Hotel de Paris.

Be seen at the Cafe de Paris.
Try your luck at the Casino de Monte-Carlo if you meet the minimum requirement to join in.
Or just stay outside to enjoy the view and these ritzy luxury cars. Where is my chauffeur?

Bon Weekend!

Toronto Summer Street Style

I can't believe that this week is the last week of August. It feels like summer is almost ending. Here are a couple of photos I snapped of some summer street style at the Bloor-Yorkville area in Toronto. We really make the most of our summer season in the City as you can see with our various summer fashion style from really tight mini-skirt in yellow with sandals to a silk nude dress with vibrant orange high heels. Summer is our time to enjoy the heat and as much as possible to wear our summer clothes in style.

Weekend In Nice

This weekend let us have a relaxing visit to Nice located in the South of France. It is the largest City in the French Riviera with the prominent Promenade des Anglais stretching along its coast facing the Mediterranean Sea. Luckily, we stayed at the luxury hotel, Le Negresco which is located along the Promenade des Anglais and just a short walk to the beach. This Summer heat is making us just a bit lazy to go sightseeing so there is nothing better to do than to stay close to the water to feel the breeze and to stay cool from the heat. There is also an abundance of fresh seafood here in Nice. When we got hungry, we ventured in the city to try their best and freshly cooked moules-frites cooked in white wine and herbs.  This summer take the time to be close to the water to enjoy every moment and to just relax.

Pottery Barn's Under The Sea

Summer is the time to enjoy the outdoors especially having an al fresco meal. Whether you eat al fresco at home or in a restaurant, it is fun during summer to incorporate themes into your dining experience. Pottery Barn is always my source of inspiration for any fun and stylish themes to celebrate the different seasons. For summer, here is their theme celebrating the sea. As many of us are going to the beach this summer, it is also fun to bring the sea to your dining lifestyle. Grill some lobster, shrimps and fish over the barbecue and serve them in style with these stylish plates from Pottery Barn. Make sure to make some really cool drinks like fruit cocktails for your guests to enjoy..

Summer At Antibes

One of the influence of Instagram is that it opens a whole wide world of different places and people to see. This summer, I have been seeing so many photos on Instagram of people's vacations on the beach especially in the Mediterranean Sea. This reminded me of my vacation in the Cote D'Azur in the South of France several years ago. One of the cities we visited was Antibes which was founded by the Greeks in the 5th Century and was originally the ancient Greek trading post called Antipolis. From a Greek trading post in Ancient times, to presently the Billionaires playground from around the world, enjoying their summer in their multi-million Euros private villas and mega yachts. Antibes has the largest Marina in the Mediterranean Sea with over 2,000 private yachts anchored there. Besides summer fun at the sea, there is also the Musee Picasso where the artist lived at the Chateau Grimaldi and also the Old Town. Discovering Antibes offered a glimpse into the summer lifestyle of the rich and famous but can also be enjoyed by everyone by visiting the old town, the beaches and its art all over the town.
Chateau Grimaldi was originally the Castle of the Grimaldi family, the founding family of Monaco.

Cap D'Antibes is on the most southern tip of land in the French Riviera. As we drove along the main Boulevard John F Kennedy, we passed by large Private Villas including the most luxurious Hotel du Cap Eden Roc. Our Guide advised us that the Hotel does not even accept credit cards. Only cash s'il vous plait. (Photo credit: Nicolas Ghesquiere Official Instagram)
