Canada Blooms Part II: Vandermeer Nursery

My mother and I had so much fun here at Vandermeer Nursery during our visit to Canada Blooms in the Direct Energy Centre. My mother went shopping here at Vandermeer Nurseries and bought some wreaths and some dahlia flower bulbs. We always receive their Calendar every year as they are very popular in the Durham region. On display here are their beautiful creation of flower arrangements, my favourite hydrangeas in purple and fuchsia and in the spirit of Easter, some Easter bunnies made with artificial moss, white ceramic or gray plaster. They also had floral wreaths in pink, yellow or lilac. They had decorative butterflies or different birds and insects in different colours that you can hang in the tree branches. This is one place we will definitely have fun visiting in the Spring and Summer for the plants, flowers and other garden decorative products. Let's go shopping at Vandermeer Nursery at Canada Blooms...

A wall of  different variety of flowers and plants.

Butterfly decors for the garden. Hydrangeas in different colours - fuchsia and purple.

My favourite Hydrangeas! What is your favourite flower?

Lovey rabbits in Vandermeer Nursery.

Spring is definitely here. Time to prepare the garden for all of the blooms that will grow. Besides, planting the bulbs and organizing your garden, I suggest to add  some decorative elements like animal decors, bird houses, some lamps and colourful hangers for tree branches to your garden. All of these beautiful decorative  things plus your plants and flowers will give your garden its own character and lots of company too!  The important thing is to have fun and to give your garden lots of love for it to grow healthy, happy and beautiful!

Vandermeer Nursery is located at 588 Lakeridge Road South, Ajax, Ontario, Canada. Their Nursery offers different variety of plants, flowers and decorative products for different seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.  I will definitely visit their store this spring for more garden inspiration and to purchase some more flowers! Canada Blooms Part I: "Flowers make us happy"

This weekend was the National Home Show and Canada Blooms in Toronto,Canada. My mother and I attended the show together with our VIP tickets, complimentary from our Re/Max Real Estate Agent. This was the first time we attended the show held at the Direct Energy Centre at Exhibition Place here in Toronto. Good thing, the weather cooperated as we have been experiencing warm and sunny temperatures lately. The show was like a coming out party for everybody especially for the Gardeners at heart, the Flower producers, landscapers, home renovators, Interior designers, home planners and architects. Name it and the show covered everything to do with our Homes and Gardens. Here are some beautiful and lavish florals that I captured during the show!

American Girl Dolls - A Revelation!

One of my dearest girlfriends Jonna, introduced me and our friend Phaedra to American Girl during a recent vacation in New York City. Jonna bought one of these dolls for her daughter in Virginia where they reside. But  in New York City, we kept looking for their flagship store which turned out to be just on Fifth Avenue beside Saks Fifth Avenue Department Store and across from Rockefeller Center. It is a huge store with at least four floors. It was like heaven for the young girls coming in with their parents to discover the wonderful world of American Girl.

American Girl is a brand of dolls that was  was created by Pleasant Rowland in 1986 under her own Pleasant Company. Her company eventually became a subsidiary of Mattel.  My friends and I were fascinated by these dolls because the Girls can actually Create their own dolls  matching their own features. The girls can choose the hair colour, the hair cut and style, the skin colour, choose their own outfits, own shoes, own accessories, even choose a doll playing their favourite sport or hanging out with their favourite pet. We couldn't believe that the dolls themselves have their own Beauty Parlour upstairs! The Beauty Parlour has complete hairstylists, barber chairs and its own accessories. As you can see in the photos below, their own owners were watching closely making sure that their beloved American Girl dolls were carefully pampered! This whole experience of visiting the American Girl store in NYC was a revelation indeed especially for me because we do not have this store in Canada yet! I can't believe that the young girls would come to the store on a Sunday morning just to have their dolls combed, styled and pampered! There is even one photo I posted here where a young lady attended a Fashion Show during New York Fashion Week with her mom together with her American Girl doll.

Come and discover the World of American Girl!

Fun at FAO Schwarz in New York City!

During a visit to New York City last January, my girlfriends and I dropped by  FAO Schwarz for some toys shopping. Being in the store was like a  Alice in Wonderland fantasy. There were toys everywhere and in every kind. We even saw Captain America! I wished that  my 3 yr old niece was with me to see all of these toys, costumes, books and candies! My friends and I definitely felt like a kid again!   I was so fascinated that I had fun taking pictures in the store!

FAO Schwarz established since 1862 is a New York City Landmark. This store is a toy emporium, making all of the children dreams come true! Every toy from every size, every kind can be found and bought from FAO Schwarz. The store is located at Fifth Avenue just across from another New York City Landmark, The Plaza Hotel. The store is also across from the Apple Store and also from Bergdorf Goodman. After a bankruptcy, the store was purchased in May 2009 by Toys "R" Us which maintained the New York City flagship store. Visit the store and you will have fun viewing all the toys and even the Schwarz Sweets! Here are some fun pictures from the store...

The toyland's entrance full of toys in different sizes everywhere....

FAO Schwarz also offer a variety of Princess dresses.

Lancel is one of the best French leather brands that offer a high quality of craftsmanship. The company was founded in 1876 by Madame Angele Lancel. In 1927, Lancel created the first Bucket bag which was rebaptised  in 2006 as the Premier Flirt bag.  In 1929, Maison Lancel moved to the Place de l'Opera, the building remains the brand's flagship store to this day. Most of their bags are named after famous Actresses both French and American.

I discovered more about Lancel during my trip to Nice, France last October 2011. These were the photos I took at the Galeries Lafayette Department Store in Nice, France. These bags are beautiful, classic, and stylish. These bags are made with high quality of craftsmanship and logo free!
