Weekend In: Muskoka Summer Fun

Muskoka Wharf, Gravenhurst.

Lake Muskoka in Ontario Province,Canada is one of the best places to spend summer. It is a two hours drive north of Toronto. It is magical, pure, relaxing and at the same time lots of fun. People enjoying time spent with family and friends at the lake, in the boathouse, joining festivities at the Wharf or just relaxing in the cottage. Everybody happy, enjoying the sunny weather, having vanilla ice cream with berries, enjoying the clear lake water and the whole environment of what make Muskoka very special. Spending summer in Muskoka is a joy!

Spending time in Muskoka is my happy place here at home in Canada. My family and I love going there to unwind and be close to nature. We enjoy spending time in the lake,  eating out, visiting the food market in Bracebridge, driving all the way to Port Carling, passing through granite rocks, huge trees and pine trees all through out.  This weekend, I will take you through a Cruise along Lake Muskoka in the R.M.S Segwun, the oldest Steamboat ship. Passing through some cottages, people enjoying the lake, viewing some islands, some boathouses and some birds enjoying their own island.   Where is your happy place? What do you like to do the most in your happy place?

Lake Muskoka.

For the second year in a row, National Geographic Traveler has given Muskoka International recognition. In 2011, Muskoka was their number 1 pick as a summer destination. For 2012, Muskoka is recognized as one of the top 20 "Best of the World Must-See Places."

Lake Cruise

Steamboat R.M.S. Segwun celebrating 125th Anniversary - since 1887. The only survivor of the fleet, which was the Royal Mail Ship of Canada Post. Bringing mail to cottage country 100 years ago. The Cruise travels along the scenic Lake Muskoka and Millionaires Row of Cottages Cruise.

According to National Geographic Traveler, 'Just two hours by-car- but a world away - from power house Toronto beats the heart of Ontario's cottage country, Muskoka. Families have gathered here for generations to revel in true wilderness. This is a place that massages the senses: the smell of pine with soft sand and needles underfoot, early mornings watch the sun burn the mist off a glassy lake, hearing the loons as they float by.'

Look who's here? My Pug, Barkley.

Driving along canopies of trees.

Driving along endless Granite rocks.

Save the best for last... Vanilla ice-cream with fresh Muskoka berries.

Relaxing on a Muskoka chair, eating Vanilla ice-cream with Muskoka berries and overlooking the lake.

Have a fabulous weekend!
