San Francisco Food Adventures

Chinese Food in Chinatown.

For a traveller like me who loves to eat, here are some of the food adventures that we discovered and tasted in San Francisco.  We discovered to our delight, that San Francisco is a food and culinary city. There are so many places to eat from the Fresh Seafood from the Pacific Ocean, the fresh meats from the Cattle ranches outside the city, fresh vegetables and fruits from the farmers, Chinese food from Chinatown, other Asian foods like Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese, Mexican food, the famous Ghirardelli Chocolates and of course California Napa and Sonoma Wines. The city is just a delicious place to visit. Here are some of the places that I recommend to visit and taste in San Francisco.

Ferry Marketplace

People going into the Ferry Marketplace for their own food adventures.

Fresh oysters anyone?

Taking a break... a hungry traveller.

San Francisco version of Gumbo and Jambalaya.

Yummy...gluten free baked goods.

Local  produce of  different kinds of Olive oils.

Not surprised that San Francisco have their own cookbooks.

Fresh Cheese some from California and some from as far away as Vermont.

Farm Fresh from local farmers.

Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf

Fresh King Crabs.

A Seafood restaurant at Pier 39.

Boudin Bakery and Bistro at Fisherman's Wharf
Boudin Bakery and Bistro at Fisherman's Wharf is famous for the Sourdough bread that they bake freshly on site and on view. There is a Bakery tour that visitors can join.

Freshly baked Sourdoughs breads.

Don't miss their famous Sourdough Clam Chowder soup. It is delicious!

Tomato Soup on Sourdough bread.

Mixed Seafood tacos.

For Dessert...Have some chocolates or ice-cream.

Have a fantastic week ahead!

  3. Love the Ferry Building! So much good food. Boudins is also one of my favorites. We are lucky to have sourdough bread down here. It's the best. Also love Ghiarardelli! Great tour. You got to see a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
