Muskoka Summer Ribfest

One of the best events during the Summer here in Muskoka was the Ribfest & Boatshow held at the Muskoka Wharf, in Gravenhurst, Ontario. This was an annual event here in Cottage country up North where even the best of American Southern Ribs including the Bloomin' Onion Food Truck travelled all the way up North to Canada to participate in this delicious and fun event. As you can see, I was amazed by these colourful Billboards advertising about their Ribs, Pulled pork and barbeque chicken. There were fresh sweet corns too. Are you hungry already? I have to admit that they were all the best and that it was hard to choose which one to line up to. Believe me, the line up to each one was long. But it was worth the wait!
Each participant even displayed all of the awards they won for being the Best!
It was worth the long line up no matter what the time was that day.
The best of the best in BBQ ribs and chicken.
Then of course, our locally produced Muskoka Beer.
I got the half ribs and chicken with coleslaw and beans with my favourite drink Cream Ale Muskoka Beer.
I love that I learn something new, this is the Bloomin Fried Onion coming all the way from Southern U.S.A.
This is similar to onion rings but instead made from a huge Vidalia onion that is flowered and deep fried.
It was our first time to try this and it was delicious.
Of course, we cannot miss the Funnel Cakes with Muskoka strawberries, Vanilla ice cream and powdered sugar.
Taking a food break by looking at these American muscle cars - Pontiac Camaro.
There were Live Music Entertainment during the day and until the night.
Isn't this a beautiful and sweet stand? Anyone for Slurpees, Candy Apples or Cotton Candy?
There were rides and games overlooking Lake Muskoka.
We tried to win some of these prizes.
A view of Muskoka Wharf and some boats on display during the Boatshow.
All aboard the Royal Mail Ship Segwun which offers a cruise around Lake Muskoka sharing its history, showing its natural wilderness and fabulous Canadian cottages around the Lake.

Enjoy your Summer Weekend!

  13. Fellow Canadian! This looks a lot like the Calgary Stampede, but a smaller version perhaps? I love carnivals though! And the food looks so epically delicious! Please remind me not to stop by your blog when you're posting food pictures, lOL (still recovering from jaw surgery). But overall, looks like a lot of fun :)
