Guilt Free Chocolate-Peanut Butter Gelato

It has always been my dream to my make my own Ice cream at home. I was about to purchase an Ice Cream Maker machine this Summer but then by chance, I came across this easy recipe from the Blog The Londoner for this Guilt Free Chocolate-Peanut Butter Gelato. I have tried this recipe twice already. This recipe is dairy free, sugar free and fat free. Eating healthy and enjoying this Gelato is the way to go to cool off this summer heat.
Main Ingredients:
  • 3 pieces of Banana peeled and sliced
  • 1 tbsp of Honey
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 2 tbsp creme Peanut Butter
  • 2 tbsp Almond Milk ( I added this one to add moisture to the gelato. This is non-dairy and gluten free)

First, slice the Bananas into pieces before freezing them overnight. Then the next day, mix the frozen bananas and the rest of the ingredients mentioned above in a mixer/blender to form a smooth gelato. Afterwards, place in your freezer for a few hours before serving. The above recipe is good for 3 people with 3 scoops each.

Coconut pie and my first attempt to make the Gelato. On this one, the gelato was darker because I used 3 tbsp of Cocoa powder. It is up to you to adjust the amount of cocoa powder. The first photo above was more balanced using 2 tbsp of cocoa powder and 2 tbsp peanut butter.

The health benefits of this recipe are the following:
  • Incredible source of Tryptophan which battles depression.
  • It works to prevent Type 2 Diabetes, aids in weight loss, lower blood pressure, balance blood sugars, protect against heart attacks and strokes.
  • Makes one more alert which is perfect before an exam or before a meeting.

Have fun making this Gelato and remember to cool off this Summer heat!

  14. I'm so glad you posted this--I just told someone my favorite ice cream is chocolate and peanut butter (though I indulge in it ... maybe never) - I have frozen bananas in the freezer so I am going to have to whip it up when I get back from the beach today. Have a wonderful weekend!
