Roger Vivier Shoes and Bags - C'est Magnifique!

Roger Vivier (1907-1998) was a French Fashion Designer, who specialized in designing shoes. He is well known as the creator of the Stiletto heel in 1954. Since then he had many celebrity clients even Queen Elizabeth II wore his shoes during her Coronation in 1953. As you can see from the high heel shoes above, the Roger Vivier shoes has the perfect angled heel and is well-known for its buckle on the front of the shoes. The brand became dormant for many years until it was brought back in 2002 by former French supermodel, Ines de la Fressange together with shoe designer, Bruno Frisoni.

In the Philippine Tatler Magazine article, Ines explained that 'When we started working on Roger Vivier in 2002, I was in a garage with my assistant because my office wasn't ready. I didn't have a phone. I didn't have my own computer. There were boxes everywhere. People would call me and expect the operations to be like during my time at Chanel, that there would be 25 people working  with me..."  Fast forward to the present 2012, Roger Vivier is so successful now with more than 10 boutiques worldwide plus their beautiful flagship store at Rue St Honore in Paris. According to Ines, "impressive for a small niche label." Very impressive indeed. But of course, Ines and Bruno had the strong foundation and history to work from, the archives of Roger Vivier, combined with their own style and experience in the Fashion World, the brand Roger Vivier will definitely be  a success!

Just look at the Spring/Summer 2012 Collection which is filled with the classic Roger Vivier shoes in flats, high heels and the sandals which are all so stylish. The Bags have become classic staples too which are  now offered in funky colours like metallic gold and silver clutch, the Royal blue Metro bag and the multi coloured leopard print clutch. Ines is of course the Muse of the brand but other famous French women, including, France First Lady, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy have supported the brand. Hollywood Actresses like Katie Holmes and Leighton Meester have worn their shoes. What do you think? Do you like the Roger Vivier Style?

Former Supermodel and Brand Ambassador for Roger Vivier is no less than Ines de la Fressange. Here she is wearing the Roger Vivier flats in snakeskin with matching RV bag. I admire the effortless chic of Ines. She is so stylish even wearing white jeans, a denim top with a string of pearl necklace. Her style shows that  a good quality shoes and bag speak volumes in being stylish.
