Abbey's Bakehouse + Power Yoga

When we are up North in Muskoka, our vacation will not be complete without a visit at our favourite bakeshop, popularly known as Abbey's Bakehouse, located in Minett, along Lake Rosseau. They make the best ever butter tarts and butter tarts with bacon, muffins made with Muskoka blueberries, banana chocolate muffin, cookies, scones and brownies. Besides, the baked goodies, their menu has expanded to include their quiche, breakfast and lunch sandwiches made with own freshly baked focaccia bread. They also make their own gelato and pies. But first of all, try the one of a kind power yoga by the lake for some enlightenment and stretching. Definitely a Muskoka moment when one can do power yoga and then sweeten the day with a visit at Abbey's Bakehouse.

Weekend In Lake Rosseau

We spend our summer at our favourite in Lake Rosseau in Muskoka, two hours north of Toronto.  Muskoka has been voted by National Geographic as one of the best summer places to visit in Canada as this area is known for its pristine lake waters for swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, water skiing and the million dollars cottages. For those not active in sports, one can just relax by the beach reading a book or sunbathing to enjoy the sun, the views and breathe in the clean and fresh air. Besides fellow sun worshippers, we can never ignore the presence of nature and wildlife all around us from the Canadian geese, ducks, birds and even butterflies. Plus anything can fly above including those seaplanes. Muskoka has abundant, thick and lush green trees. Muskoka is my happy place, as always so relaxing and clean just to be here. Everything there is good, loving and peaceful. Luckily, we always saw the sunset and even the blood red full moon so huge for three nights.

Muskoka Boat Show And Ribfest

One of our summer highlights is attending the Muskoka Boat Show and Ribfest held last weekend from July 27 to 29 at the Muskoka Wharf in Gravenhurst, Ontario, two hours North of Toronto. Muskoka is our favourite summer place as it has the three major lakes in the province: Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau and Lake Joseph. My family and I stayed at our favourite cottage in Lake Rosseau, Muskoka with its cool and clear lake water. Besides swimming on the clear water lake, we kayak and enjoyed stand up paddle boarding. During our dinner at the Muskoka ribfest, we tried all of the outstanding ribs from Canada and the USA. There were food trucks that offered the blooming onion, poutine and we tried the new butterfly fries/chips. There was a live band that played country music in the cool summer's night whilst we enjoyed our barbecue ribs, chicken, sweet corn and fries. Everything was so delicious and we enjoyed this event every summer here at Lake Muskoka.
